Travel Grants and Awards for Students and Young Professionals
INTER-NOISE 2021 provides many opportunities for young professionals (including students) to receive grants with congress participation, attend the YP Mentoring Workshop, noise control practice school, network with noise control professionals, and showcase research. Note the following:
- Since the INTER-NOISE 2021 Congress is now in a virtual (online) mode, there are certain restrictions to the travel or attendance awards. Please still complete the form(s) that are posted here (which assume hybrid congress mode). The grant award committee(s) will determine the extent of the reduced award and inform you accordingly when the award is made. For instance, only the applicable registration will be covered in some cases.
- Please carefully read the following narrative to determine eligibility and ground rules of each award.
- A student may apply to several travel awards but will receive only one award (INCE-USA travel award, I-INCE Young Professionals Award or the Latin America Young Professionals Award) to attend INTER-NOISE 2021. If the student is a potential recipient of two or more travel grants, only one (the most financially beneficial) award will be given to that student.
- Please continue to visit the website for latest updates including the abstract/paper deadlines as the forms will not be updated. Share the information posted to ensure everyone can take advantage of these great opportunities.
- The I-INCE programs for students and young professionals are described here https://2021.internoise.org/programs-for-student-and-yps/.
I-INCE Young Professional Congress Attendance Grants (YP Grants)
The goal of this program is to assist young professionals/engineers in attending the 50th International Congress on Noise Control Engineering (INTER-NOISE 2021) to be held in Washington DC, USA 1-4 August 2021. Additional Opportunities for Students at INTER-NOISE 2021
INTER-NOISE 2021 “Classic Papers in Noise Control Engineering” Competition (open to all students)
There will be a special session of student presentations of seminal noise control papers: “Classic Papers in Noise Control Engineering”. This is open to all students. Students will present on one of the classic papers listed in the entry form. An award will be given based on the student’s presentation alone. Papers are not required for presentations in this session, but abstracts are. The student and their advisor must be members of an I-INCE Member Society.
The abstract and presentation should focus on the main thrust of the original paper but could also include additional work that has been done by the student presenter. The additional work could include reproduction of the results in the original paper, additional analysis, or a study of the influence of the original paper on subsequent research or noise control practice, etc. A winner, as determined by the INCE-USA judging panel, will receive $1000 USD if the student attends the INTER-NOISE 2021 Awards Ceremony. Multiple student winners may share the prize money. Click here for the application form and rules in word & pdf formats
Please submit abstracts for this competition to the “20.15 Classic Papers in Noise Control Engineering” session.
